Graceland North Alpacas and Angora Rabbits is an animal friendly full service, family run farm raising and breeding ARI registered Huacaya alpacas. In addition to our breeding stock, we also maintain a herd of fiber producing suri and huacaya males which supplies us with the fleece we use for our yarn and fiber goods. We offer alpacas for sale and also a wide array of alpaca and angora products for sale. We have fallen in love with the unique and natural fleece properties with the many different color variations that alpacas and angoras can provide. These (at least) 22 differnt color variations of natural fleece, opens up the door to a world of renewable resource which can provide beautiful, natural, non-chemical, un-dyed and non-fading fleece products such as yarns, knitted and woven items. You can find our products at local fiber festivals/craft fairs/farmers markets in addition to our our online store. Most importantly we offer continuing support and help for anyone who has questions regarding these livestock animals and the fleece/wool they produce.
We also raise satin angora rabbits, french angoras and german/satin hybrid angoras for their wool. Angora Rabbits provide us with many different color variations in wool for our wool products. These colors include, red, chestnut, blue(gray), white, chocolate black and many more beautiful and rich colors. These rabbits molt their wool or we shear their wool off to harvest their wool.

Each spring alpacas are shorn and that fleece can then used for many products. Alpacas are the worlds oldest breed of livestock thought to be domesticated from the vacuna over 5,000 years ago. Alpaca fiber is considered to be one of the finest fibers in the world, it is soft and silky to the touch. Alpacas are a unique fiber bearing animal in that they come in 22 natural colors as classified in the United States with many varying shades...It's 'Green' and renewable. By blending the different colors you can come up with an almost unlimited array of shades of natural colors that can be spun into yarn then knitted, woven or felted into wonderful end products such as sweaters, socks, hats, gloves, scarves, blankets or even rugs to name only a few. Alpaca fiber contains no lanolin as sheeps wool does, is non-allergenic and warmer than sheeps wool. Many people that cannot wear sheeps wool due to the "itchiness" can wear alpaca clothing.
Our farm breeds for healthy alpacas with sound conformation. We put our breeding emphasis on fleece characteristics, specifically breeding for fleece fineness and blanket uniformity first then carefully balancing that fineness with density, crimp style and staple length. We offer quality alpacas for sale and stud services at affordable prices. We have a sizable herd in a rainbow of colors to choose from ranging from white, fawn, black and even appaloosa. As a testimate to our breeding program our offspring continue to win ribbons in very competitive halter shows - 23 ribbons and 1 reserve championship to date. Many of our angora rabbits boast ribbon winning lineage also.
Raising alpacas can offer great tax advantages.
